Red light therapy is all the rage when it comes to enhancing healing and promoting regeneration of tissues. Light affects our body in ways we are just beginning to understand. Some of the ways that light therapy enhances healing is by increasing blood flow and by stimulating collagen production. I do not yet own one of the full body red light therapy devices, however I did purchase and regularly use a small handheld red light therapy device that is used for targeted red light therapy treatment.

Here's a link to the one that I settled on and use regularly: https://amzn.to/3LJBHEP

You can see the red and blue light combinations reflecting off the counter, red on the left and blue on the right. This device combines several different wavelengths for a broad application of use.

I recently had a root canal removed and an implant put in, and I placed the device right on my jaw for targeted healing, and I could definitely tell a marked decrease in the swelling and pain after treatment. The site did heal fast, and I truly believe that using red light therapy 2-3 times a day right after surgery made a difference. A week ago, I had Mohs surgery to remove a squamous skin cancer spot, and I am using the red light therapy again on that, and the surgery site looks amazing! It has healed so quickly, and I feel like the device is bright and powerful. I don't even think that the site is going to scar. I also like to slide the device around my face while I'm sitting on the couch watching TV to just stimulate collagen production.

It is very bright and powerful. Here's a picture of what my face looks like in a dim room so you can see how the light penetrates right through my skin into my body. You can see the light goes right through my cheek and brightly into my mouth:

The battery does not last that long, but it comes with rechargeable batteries, so I just keep one on the charger and one in the device, and it is simple to switch them out. You should only use this on any one area for 3-5 minutes at a time, but the light automatically turns off after five minutes so that you know it's time so end the session or turn it back on again and move on to a new area.

The device is recommend for not only wound healing and collagen production, but also for chronic pain. So, if you have tendonitis, knee pain, wrist pain, shoulder pain, etc, this might be something to try as well!
